Saturday April 17

No water. Man from S & S well co. in St. C. came afternoon worked till 7. Put 20 ft. plastic pipe in well, old one rusted just above the water line. It’s been dry and the lake is down and the water level must have fallen below the hole. Was $10 labor and $4.65 parts. But the pump is still not working right, won’t cut off, won’t build up any pressure. He’s coming back tomorrow. Dady came down, I was sure surprised and happy. He said he'd bring some venison and cokes tomorrow when Vonceil and the girls come. So maybe it will be O.K. He went to W. Haven, Margaret Lewis died. Awful today without water, got some from Keeners, used lake water to mop and flush with.
