Monday April 19
$42.47 East Lake. Put out 4 more. E. Lake. I took the truck to Chevie garage in K, gave us a '57 Ford to use. Took the flowers to the cemetery, looked pretty. Dady went to the funeral in W. Haven. Lucy was out on the road this A.M. Is really dry, lake going down, roads are so dusty. Drive in a dust cloud on these roads. Wish it would rain. Finished Peggy’s pink blouse, striped skirt.
Lucy
Lucy was one of the family’s calves. At this time in 1965 they had Holsteins named Rosemary (more black than white) and Lucy (more white than black) and a Brown Swiss named Heidi. At one point, the family also had a calf named Beefsteak. They were purchased from a dairy on Brown Chapel Road when they were a few days old and the girls would feed them with a bucket.
