Friday Sept. 3
$17.76. Busy. Washed, cleaned house AM, Ray and I took VW up after lunch, had to wait 3 hours for the 300 mile check. Used a VW bus to go shopping, loved it, so huge and roomy. Went downtown to OCS and bought my books $11.15. Then to Millers. I bought a pretty pink white stripe seersucker suit for $2.00. Sure like it, first “bargain” dress that ever fit me. Tried to buy Peg a dress but afraid to get wrong size. Bought pattern 50 cents, dark blue duck zipper 2.25 so I know it will fit. Bought Peggy’s Barbie pattern 222, 50$ so she’s happy. Service on VW was $5.28. Girls were worried when we got home at 5:45, but had to get the car serviced.
