Monday Sept. 6

Worked hard all day, got the house all clean, washed 3 loads clothes, ironed 2 times, mended, washed, rolled girls hair. Too tired to wash more. Windy all day, few brief showers. Wind blew a baby squirrel out of nest in cabbage palm. He must be about ¼ grown, so friendly. Put him in tree, mother tried to hurt him, so we fed him, he’s curled up asleep in an old cage. Ray vacuumed and washed the VW. He went up Shaffers to visit, helped Tom some on house. Tired but ready for school tomorrow I think.
