Clear, sunny. Welcome after the rain. Mr. and Mrs. Scholz came over to call their son, are both better. Ray went to town for gas, haircut. Showers after lunch, windy pm. Ray caught shrimp, put out 4 lines here. Ironed and cleaned house. Girls and I looked at my German china, have to look at it every now and then. It’s been in that crate for 7 years, maybe I can take it out soon.
During Ray’s time in the army, the family lived in Germany. Peggy recalls, “there was no place to put the china. It sat in a knee-high crate in the room at the center of the house. This room also held the deep freeze and our maybe 3 boxes of toys. My sister and I would play on the china crate.”
